Let me tell you about this client .
He works in Riyadh. His flat is in Amman. Every night, he would lie awake imagining his empty roof terrace – dull tiles, dust, and a broken chair. He dreamed of a real terrace. A place with a BBQ, a cozy pergola, soft lights, and art that made him feel proud.
But fear ate at him.
“What if the insulation fails? What if water seeps through and ruins everything?”
“I’m not there. I can’t see what they’re doing. How do I know they’re not cutting corners?”
“My family is visiting in five weeks. If this isn’t finished, I’ll be humiliated.”
“Every contractor says they can do it. But will it look like a cheap copy of something I saw on Pinterest?”
He had been burned before. A previous project had left him with cracked tiles and empty promises. He didn’t trust anyone. His voice on our first call was tight, hesitant, almost apologetic.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I want this so badly. But I’m terrified.”
We didn’t blame him. We’ve seen the same horror stories. And we knew – if we couldn’t earn his trust in the first conversation, he would hang up and find someone else.
We didn’t just send him a quote. We sent him a design story.
First, we studied his empty terrace – the sun, the wind, the views. We asked him how he wanted to feel. “Like I’m on vacation,” he said. So we created 3D renderings of a pergola-covered lounge, a stone BBQ station, hand-carved planters, and a statement chandelier. He approved everything from his phone.
Then we supervised the built. We started with commercial-grade waterproofing – two coats of liquid membrane, then a 48-hour flood test. He watched the video from Riyadh. No leaks. He sent a voice note: “I didn’t sleep last night. Thank you for showing me.”
We laid non-slip porcelain tiles that look like natural stone, sent him close-ups of the grout lines. We erected a powder-coated aluminum pergola with a UV‑resistant roof, sent photos of the welds and anchors. We built a stone-clad BBQ area and tested it — sent him a picture of smoke rising.
Stones Luxury delivered hand‑carved stone pots weighing over 100 kg each, and a custom chandelier. We sent a video of the chandelier being lifted into place. His voice cracked: “That’s art.”
We installed dimmable string lights, added weather-resistant furniture, and cleaned everything. On day 30, we sent a video at sunset. He booked his flight.
Client landed on a Thursday afternoon. He came straight to the terrace. I opened the door. He stood there, silent, taking it in – the pergola, the stone pots, the chandelier glowing in the sunset.
His eyes wet. “I didn’t think it would look this good,” he whispered. “I was so scared.”
Thirty days. Fixed budget. Zero flights until the final weekend. A terrace that feels like a private resort. He cooks for his family there now. And he sleeps peacefully in Riyadh, knowing the insulation will never fail.
